Trident Energy has developed the Direct Energy Conversion Method (DECM) - a unique patented method of generating electricity directly from ocean waves. The Trident Energy DECM is a point absorber which has only one principal moving part per energy converter - it is the simplest marine renewable energy generation system that exists.

The system works by using floats, placed in the sea that rise and fall with the movement of the waves. Each float is connected to a “thrust pole” that drives the company’s patented tubular linear generators. This simple energy conversion chain results in the immediate generation of electricity. No hydraulic equipment or air compression is required; the energy contained in the wave is converted directly into electricity.

The simplicity of Trident’s patented solution gives us a number of unique competitive advantages:
