Unique Benefits

The DECM has only one moving part

Wave energy is converted directly to electricity, avoiding the need for an intermediate mechanism. This key advantage eliminates all of the moving parts and operational problems associated with hydraulic pumps, engines and rotary generators and avoids all related energy losses.

The DECM system is self protecting

The DECM has a unique and patented self-protection mechanism, which automatically retracts the floats from the sea in storm conditions storing them in protective chambers above the water line until conditions return to normal.

Minimal Maintenance

The only moving part is the float ⁄ linear generator translator combination, consequently maintenance is minimal.

Operates in a Variety of Sea Conditions and Wave Directions

Unlike other solutions the DECM is able to use the full spectrum of wave heights, wavelengths and wave directions.

Minimal Operational Footprint

The linear generator occupies considerably less surface area than the float which powers it. Thus as many floats as is mechanically practical can operate within a given area of sea. The sea area adjacent to the float is not ‘used up’ by any associated mechanism. This unique benefit enables major savings in terms of the structure required to support our solution as compared to competitive offerings.

A wave farm occupying just 1 square kilometer will be capable of supplying 100MW.

The DECM is based on Proven Technology

Our solution is based on established and proven engineering concepts. There is no aspect of the technology that requires unusual, or as yet, unavailable or untested components. This dramatically shortens our ‘time to market’ as compared to competitor solutions, some of which have been under development for over 10 years.

International patents have been granted and others on file covering all aspects of the Company’s technology.
